Our Trip to Washington

We had dinner tonight at Scott and Alicia's and got scolded for not updating out blog. So, here are some pictures from our trip to the San Juan Islands. It was a fantastic trip- very relaxing. We spent most of the days sailing, reading, cooking, and eating. Is there a better way to spend a week?

We stayed in a house on the point. My dad brought his sailboat and we kept it right there at the docks so we had easy access. Landon learned how to sail while we were there and on the last day took me out on the "open ocean". We saw a lot of fish and even some seals, which scared me to death, but as soon as I relaxed I really enjoyed the time on the water.

Aiden got to know his cousin Jak and Jak absolutely loved Aiden. Jak is 18 months old and quite the rowdy child, so I was amazed at how gentle he was with Aiden. Aiden seemed like a "cure all" for Jak while we were there. If Jak ever cried or got upset, we just had to let him see Aiden and point to his toes, nose, eyes, etc. and Jak would light up and immediately settle down.

The Hike

I know it's been awhile since we posted, but we finally figured out how to get our pictures on here. These pictures are from July 6th, so Aiden was two weeks old, and he got to go on his first hike. He loved it, although at times it made him go a little crosseyed. The doctor's say that will go away, and as he is learning how to focus now...it has already improved a great deal. Sarah also really enjoyed the hike but decided to stay out of the pictures. This post is short, but there is anothe immediately following, and we all know that we like the pictures better than the words anyway.

July 2

Aiden and I are just hanging out today. We have had a great weekend with the Allred's and are using today to rest. I'm just sitting in bed with him laying beside me. He is surprisingly alert and we are having a great time just looking at eachother. Aiden's cord fell off late Friday night and he took his first shower with his Dad on Saturday. He loved the warm water and was completely calm during the shower, so Landon is officially in charge of keeping him clean. Landon has been incredible with Aiden- I have no idea what I would do without him. I'm feeling great, a little tired but nothing unbearable. Luckily Aiden has only been waking up once every night which has given me time to recover and get ready for when he decides he wants to wake up more than that.
